According to the information compiled by SteelRadar analysts from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, Turkey's October scrap imports increased by 151.30% compared to the same month of the previous year, while it recorded a decrease of 20.49% compared to the previous month.
Total scrap imports for the January-October period increased by 37% compared to the same period last year, from 137,184 tons to 187,943 tons.
In the overview of the first 11 months of 2023, the highest scrap import figure was recorded in September with 27,234 tons. During this period, the highest value of 2022 was reached in February with 19,084 tons, while the lowest value was recorded in February 2023 with 11,413 tons. The lowest import of scrap metal in 2022 was recorded in May at 8,000,343 tons.
