The number of employed people increased by 235 thousand people to 32 million 712 thousand in July and the employment rate became 49.6 %. The employment rate was recorded as 67.4 % for men and 32.2 % for women.
Youth Unemployment Rate Decreased to 16.6 %
Youth unemployment rate, which covers the 15-24 age group, decreased by 1.0 point compared to the previous month and became 16.6 %. While the unemployment rate for young men was 12.2 %, this rate was announced as 25.0 % for young women.
Idle Labor Force Rate Decreased
The idle labor force rate, which consists of time-dependent underemployment, potential labor force and unemployed, decreased to 26.5 % in July 2024, a decrease of 2.7 % points compared to the previous month.
