Toyota's domestic production is at its lowest level in 45 years

Toyota has updated its production and sales data for fiscal 2021, which ends in March 2021.

Accordingly, Toyota's domestic vehicle production decreased by 5.4 percent in the 2021 fiscal year compared to the previous fiscal year, to 2 million 760 thousand 843.

In the statement made by the company, it was stated that Toyota's 2021 fiscal year domestic vehicle production fell to the lowest level in the last 45 years.

It was reported that the decrease was due to supply chain problems and factory closures caused by Kovid-19.

Thus, the annual domestic production target of 3 million vehicles of the Japanese company could not be achieved.

Toyota's global vehicle production, on the other hand, increased by 4.7 percent to 8 million 569 thousand 549 as a result of increasing demand in the North American and Asian markets. Thus, the brand's global vehicle production increased for the first time in the last 3 years.

Sales increased 4.7 percent
The Japanese company's global vehicle sales increased by 4.7 percent compared to the previous fiscal year to 9 million 511 thousand 558, which was the second highest rate in the company's history.

While domestic sales decreased by 9.3 percent to 1 million 395 thousand 920, overseas sales increased by 7.5 percent to 8 million 115 thousand 638.

Overseas sales rose 2.7 percent in North America and 5.4 percent in Asia.
