The renovation replaces a casting and rolling line operating for more than twenty-five years with a modernized hot strip rolling mill and a state-of-the-art continuous casting line. New continuous casting line No. 4, hot strip rolling mill No. 4 and two new walking beam furnaces are scheduled to start production in May 2025.
thyssenkrupp set its strategic moves to improve its competitive position in the long term and to serve customers in a variety of markets even better. Innovation and new construction at the Duisburg plant is intended to strengthen future practicability and efficiency.
System availability is also being increased by separating and converting the casting and rolling lines. thyssenkrupp is focusing on developing its operational ability to meet the future needs of its clients in major sectors such as mobility and energy.
