It was stated that the newly developed products are aimed at increasing the reliability of production processes and ensuring operational continuity.
During the year, more than 390 tons of the newly introduced products were shipped to the market. The plant designed the new product range in line with the technical and operational needs of steel producers and mining companies. In this context, production of suspended andalusite refractories for hardening machines was launched in 2025, along with burner blocks intended for use at Metinvest Group’s Central and Northern Iron Ore facilities.
The Zaporizhzhia Refractory Plant also developed various customized solutions for Kamet Steel. Vibratory-cast lance blocks were produced for use in ladle blowing units at the BOF shop, while slag-forming mixtures for continuous casting molds used in high-carbon steel grades, thermal insulation mixes and working linings for distribution ladles, and gunning masses used in the repair of coke oven batteries were also added to the production program.
In addition, refractory materials for lining the working walls of electric arc furnaces were developed for Metinvest Machinery, and special refractory solutions were prepared for ladle back lining at the Dniprostal plant.
Under its technical development plans, the plant aims to further expand its product range in 2026. Accordingly, production is planned to begin on around 10 new refractory products, primarily ladle well blocks and ladle nozzles, as well as new hardener types, slag-forming mixtures, and refractory thermal-insulating concretes.
The Zaporizhzhia Refractory Plant works with partners in 30 countries worldwide, while its core customer base consists of Metinvest’s steelmaking, mining, and repair-mechanical operations in Ukraine. The facility produces around 1,200 different refractory product types and provides more than 30 types of services. Total refractory output in 2025 was recorded at 95,000 tons.
