The US demands for more transparency from Mexico in its steel and aluminum imports

As part of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), Cara Morrow, Senior Advisor to the United States Trade Representative, emphasized the need for increased transparency from Mexico regarding its imports of steel and aluminum from third countries. This request comes in light of the recent rise in Mexican exports of steel and aluminum to the United States.

Additionally, the discussion between Morrow and Alejandro Encinas Nájera, the Mexican Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, encompassed the significance of close cooperation between the two nations in implementing the USMCA's Rapid Response Labor Mechanism and enforcing the prohibition on importing goods produced through forced labor.
