According to data from the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre (TKGM), the increase in sales observed since the beginning of the year across all types of real estate, including residential properties, land, fields, workplaces, and commercial assets, largely continued throughout the rest of the year.
October Marks the Peak of the Year
While the number of transactions stood at 238,938 in january, it was 232.756 in february, 222.934 in march, 237.829 in april, 263.643 in may, 218.282 in june, 284.852 in july, 290.564 in august, and 300.687 in september.
In october, sales reached 310.457, marking the highest monthly performance of the year, although this figure represented a 1.8% decrease compared to the same month last year.
Nevertheless, with 2.6 million transactions in the january–october period, Turkey set an all-time record. The previous peak was recorded in 2022, with 2.551.640 transactions.
16.7 Million Transactions in Land Registry Offices
During the same period, a total of 16.676.177 transactions were carried out in land registry offices. Of these, 2.6 million were sales, more than 1.1 million were mortgages, 403.000 transfers, 142.000 corrections, 56.000 expropriations, 44.000 parcel divisions, 29.000 donations, 25.000 mergers, and 23.000 partitioning operations. Various other registry transactions exceeded 12 million in total.
Sharp Increase in Title Deed Fee Revenues
Revenues from title deed fees rose by 76.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching TRY 122.78 billion. Of this amount, TRY 117.4 billion came from sales transactions alone.
