The Ministry of Trade imposed anti-dumping duties on chain products originating from the EU

The Ministry of Trade announced that the anti-dumping measure applied to imports of "various jointed chains and components" originating from China will also cover imports from the European Union, except for Spain.

The Ministry of Trade imposed anti-dumping duties on chain products originating from the EU

The Ministry of Trade has taken a new step to prevent unfair competition in imports. Through the “Communiqué on the Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports” (Communiqué No: 2025/20), published in the Official Gazette, anti-dumping measures have been imposed on certain chains and components imported from the European Union (excluding Spain).

According to a statement from the Ministry, this decision was made following the completion of the investigation initiated under the Communiqué dated May 21, 2024, and conducted by the Directorate General of Imports.

According to the decision, imports of products classified under HS codes 7315.11.90.00.11, 7315.11.90.00.19, 7315.12.00.00.11, 7315.12.00.00.19, and 7315.19.00.00.00, defined as “various jointed chains and components,” will now be subject to the anti-dumping duty of USD 1,200/ton previously applied to products originating from the People’s Republic of China (PRC). This measure will now also apply to products originating from the EU (excluding Spain).

The Ministry stated that, as a result of the review, it was determined that the said EU-origin products were being imported with the aim of circumventing the measures applied to Chinese products.

Customs authorities will, in line with this decision, begin applying the definitive anti-dumping measure to imports from the EU (excluding Spain) under the free circulation regime.

The new regulation entered into force on the date of the Communiqué’s publication, and the Minister of Trade will be responsible for overseeing its implementation.
