The Ministry of Industry and Technology shared its low-carbon and efficiency-focused initiatives in the metal industry

In his presentation, Türkarslan elaborated on analyses such as the Low-Carbon Pathways (LCP Reports) that aim to achieve net-zero emissions in the steel and aluminum sectors by 2053, the Türkiye Green Industry Project (TYSP), the Eco Steel Project (Training Project for Promoting Greenhouse Gas Mitigation in the Steel Sector), and the Türkiye Industrial Decarbonization Investment Platform (TIDIP).

The presentation also emphasized state incentives for investments under Decision No. 9903, emission reduction projections, and the required investment planning. Türkarslan stated, “With every step we take toward low-carbon and efficient production in our metal industry, we are not only strengthening our sector but also laying the foundations of sustainable development.”

Within the framework of the LCP Reports, projections for production, consumption, and production methods, targets for the implementation of new technologies, and policy frameworks were highlighted as net-zero oriented measures.
