The Qatar Customs General Administration and Qatar Steel signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish controls and procedures aimed at restricting the export of scrap iron outside the State of Qatar.
The MoU was signed at the Authority's headquarters by Ahmed Yousef Al-Sahl, Deputy President of the Customs Ports Affairs Authority, and Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdullah, General Manager and CEO of Qatar Steel, with the participation of numerous department heads and officials from both sides.
The agreement aims to protect national resources, support local industry, ensure the sustainability of supply chains, and increase transparency and compliance in the scrap iron trade.
