The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the construction production index data for January. Accordingly, construction production increased by 8% year-on-year, indicating that the sector continued its growth trend in the first month of the year.
When the sub-sectors are examined, the building construction index increased by 8.1% compared to the same month of the previous year, while civil engineering works increased by 8.8% and specialized construction activities recorded a 7.1% increase. These figures indicate that production increased across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.
On a monthly basis, construction production increased by 0.9%. However, differences were observed among sub-sectors. The building construction sector declined by 0.1% in January, while civil engineering works increased by 0.8% and specialized construction activities recorded a 4.8% increase.
