The commercial loans experienced a loss of momentum

While Turkiye continues its tightening cycle, a notable deceleration in commercial loans has been observed.

According to calculations based on data from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), in the week of October 13th, the growth in commercial loans declined to 17.02% in the 13-week, annualized, and inflation-adjusted dataset. In the week of October 6th, the growth in commercial loans, at 18.28%, had surpassed the growth in consumer loans.

A slowdown in consumer loan growth has also been evident alongside commercial loans. According to the same dataset, the growth in consumer loans was recorded at 14.94%.

In May, there was a growth of over 100% in consumer loans, reaching the highest level of the year.
