Tenova recently commissioned a new hot-dip galvanised (HDG) steel line with an annual production capacity of 450 kt for the Russian NLMK Group. The new line concentrates on high-strength steel, gapless steel and advanced high-strength steel. Thus, NLMK will be able to benefit from the new line and consolidate its market competitiveness in the automotive sector.
The new HDG line has many new and efficient functions. Its new mathematical model can ensure constant quality products for different production plans. Moreover, its furnace is a combination of vertical heat treatment with horizontal heating and close cooling chamber.
Such a design will create flexibility for new skin pass, severe strip annealing etc. In addition, the most important thing is that the stress stabiliser section is available for steel grades at different stages.
