Tata Steel has signed a long-term contract with AWIPL for the operation of its Air Separation Unit

According to Tata Steel, the plant has been designed to produce 1.800 tons of oxygen per day, along with nitrogen, argon, and dry compressed air. These gases are primarily intended for use in the company’s blast furnaces and steelmaking facilities.

The company stated that the plant is currently in the stabilization phase and is planned to be handed over to AWIPL next month.

This strategic partnership agreement, covering approximately 20 years, was recently signed by Tata Steel’s Vice President of TQM, GSP, and SC, Peeyush Gupta, and Air Water India Private Limited’s Managing Director, Kausik Mukhopadhyay.
