Metal prices, such as nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, have recently increased, increasing production costs. As a result, upstream producers were expected to raise their prices to cover their costs. The cost of 304-grade hot and cold rolled stainless steel is expected to rise by NT$3,000 per ton.
On the one hand, downstream buyers are concerned that higher prices will have an impact on overall market sales. Because of the improving real estate market, recovering market demand, and increasing raw material prices in China, stainless steel prices were not expected to decline significantly. At the moment, downstream buyers are taking a wait-and-see approach to their purchasing decisions.
