From January to February, Taiwan's scrap imports increased by 23% to 233,000 tons, according to information from Taiwanese customs.
Taiwan's import source, the USA, maintained its position as the first country and exported 97,900 tons of scrap, up 20% month on month. Japan with 63,700 tons, Australia with 18,100 tons and the Dominican Republic with 15,000 tons took the second place.
Taiwanese exports fell 7 percent month on month with 2,100 tons of scrap in February. Taiwan became the country's main supplier, exporting 1,008 tons of scrap to India.
