Taiwan steel manufacturers adjust prices amid market dynamics

Dragon Steel Corporation (DSC), a prominent structural steel section manufacturer in Taiwan, has announced a significant NT$300/ton increase in its H-beam price for March, building upon February's pricing structure.

Taiwan steel manufacturers adjust prices amid market dynamics

This adjustment aims to sustain market production and fulfill sales orders effectively.

DSC has been progressively raising the base price of H-beam over the past months, with increments of NT$600/ton for January, NT$300/ton for February, and another NT$300/ton for March, totaling NT$1,200 in hikes so far this year.

Meanwhile, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel mill in Taiwan, has opted to maintain an individual negotiating approach for March offers with its customers, continuing a strategy implemented for three consecutive months.

Although specific prices for March were not publicly disclosed by Yusco, downstream buyers have noted an actual increase in prices. This uptick can be attributed to recent escalations in international raw material costs and imported materials, alongside heightened pricing trends in China.
