Swiss Steel to implement carbon monitoring software at Emmenbrücke facility

Swiss Steel announced that it has purchased the environmentally friendly software Viridis Carbon for its Steeltec production facility in Emmenbrücke, Switzerland. This software is seen as a significant step towards reducing environmental impacts in the industry. Viridis Carbon is part of SMS group's Viridis Energy and Sustainability Suite and offers the ability to monitor a facility's carbon emissions in near real-time.

The software can report the amounts of CO2 equivalents produced by the company at any given time. This information helps industrial facilities determine the carbon footprint of their products.

Swiss Steel will initially use this software in the melting shop, rolling mill, and bright bar factory. The agreement includes not only the software license but also cloud services, user support, bug and error fixes, and access to new versions. This development is considered an important step towards the company's goal of reducing its environmental impact.
