The new company will provide supply chain management (SCM) services to the energy sector in Oman. The initial focus will be on Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG), with plans to expand into renewable and other energy segments in the future.
Sumitomo Corporation has been supplying OCTG products to Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), a subsidiary of EDO, for more than 20 years. Through services such as inventory management, maintenance, and just-in-time delivery, the company has established an efficient and stable supply system.
The venture aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between Oman and Japan in the energy sector, enhance the resilience of Oman’s energy infrastructure, and contribute to the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
A representative from Sumitomo Corporation stated that the partnership will support Oman’s efforts toward energy diversification and sustainable growth. An EDO official emphasized that the initiative will localize the supply chain, improve efficiency, and create new opportunities for Omani SMEs and professionals.
