Japanese automaker Subaru has announced that it has temporarily suspended production at its the USA facilities due to a semiconductor chip supply problem.
According to the news of public broadcaster NHK, automakers continue to suffer from supply shortages after increasing chip demand for smartphones and 5G network equipment.
Subaru announced that it is suspending production at its facilities in Indiana, the USA, due to the problem of supplying chips used in engine and brake systems.
The plant, whose production was suspended until the end of April, accounts for 40 percent of the company's total production volume in and out of Japan.
