Since the beginning of the war, production has been completely stopped at almost all the largest metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine. At the beginning of the year, the Dnieper Metal Plant was stopped. 80% of all Ukrainian production was exported.
Steel prices in Ukraine have been falling on a daily basis for the past few weeks. What then are the causes of this?
Because it is "out of season," the demand for metal products has decreased over the last few months in Ukraine. The demand for metal products is higher in the western regions than it is in the central regions.
A decline in steel demand and production in China may also be to blame for the drop in prices in Ukraine.
Due to a decline in both the demand for and production of steel in China, iron ore prices may drop by 28% by the end of 2023. Since China accounts for 70% of the world's iron ore imports, this will affect the market globally.
According to the information received by www.steelradar.com from the market representatives, steel prices in Ukraine as of 07.04.2023 are as follows;

H-beams (18-24) - $1827
