Steel prices in China fluctuated in early February

During this period, the average price of construction steel (HRB 400, 20 mm) in China's 25 major cities dropped by 14.5 yuan/ton or 0.4% compared to ten days prior, reaching 3,910.6 yuan/ton ($543).

Wire rod prices (HPB 300, 6.5 mm) also saw a decrease of 13.0 yuan/ton or 0.3%, averaging 4,120.4 yuan/ton ($572) during the same period.

Commercial medium plate prices (Q235, 20 mm), on the other hand, recorded an increase of 16.1 yuan/ton or 0.4% compared to the previous session, reaching 4,141.6 yuan/ton ($575). Hot-rolled plate (Q235, 3 mm) witnessed a decline of 22.7 yuan/ton or 0.6%, dropping to 4,051.7 yuan/ton ($562).

Meanwhile, seamless steel pipe prices increased by 20.0 yuan/ton or 0.4%, reaching 4,696.9 yuan/ton ($652). Data also showed that angle steel prices reached 4,182.4 yuan/ton ($581), indicating an increase of 4.4 yuan/ton or 0.1% compared to the previous session.
