SSAB’s Vice President of Sustainability, Thomas Hörnfeldt, stated, “We are pleased to deepen our collaboration with EAB. EAB has already started using SSAB Zero™ in its production. This demonstrates that fossil-free production is not just a vision, but a tangible reality. Together, we are taking concrete steps to reduce climate impact and create sustainable solutions for the industry.”
EAB has begun using SSAB Zero™ in the machine chassis of its flagship product, Radioshuttle™. This system optimizes storage space for customers in warehouse management while also reducing energy consumption. EAB’s CEO, Per-Åke Andersson, added, “Our partnership with SSAB reflects our commitment to continuing development to carry steel into the future. This journey cannot be done alone — we are accomplishing it together.”
Based in Smålandsstenar, EAB develops, manufactures, and installs warehouse equipment, doors, and steel structures worldwide. While focusing on quality, functionality, and longevity, the company places sustainability at the core of its operations. EAB aims to reduce its carbon emissions by half within the next 10 years. The company is making steady progress toward this goal through its own solar power plant, sustainable transportation initiatives, and the increasing use of fossil-free steel.
