Standing out with its social projects that contribute to the development of the local community in Dilovası, Çolakoğlu Metallurgy continues to create social value through its Sports Club, which operates to encourage young people to engage in sports and to support their physical, social, and cultural development.
With the broad participation of the private sector, public institutions, universities, and local administrations, more than 200 projects in 9 main categories were evaluated in the event.
As part of this evaluation, Çolakoğlu Metallurgy Sports Club was deemed worthy of an award in the category of 'Projects that Add Value to Society – Sports.' The award was received by Çolakoğlu Metallurgy Corporate Communications Manager and Board Member of the Çolakoğlu Metallurgy Sports Club, Seda Demirel Yıldırım, along with Corporate Communications Consultant and General Coordinator of the Çolakoğlu Metallurgy Sports Club, Dr. İlker Dilek.
In the statement made after the award ceremony, company stated that : ‘'Receiving this meaningful award is a reflection of Çolakoğlu Metallurgy’s steadfast commitment to creating value for society. Every success we achieve motivates us to strive for even better results."
This year, the outstanding achievements of the 200 athletes within the Çolakoğlu Metallurgy Sports Club are as follows:
- Modern Pentathlon: The girls’ team became the Turkish champions in Ankara.
- Fencing: One athlete won a bronze medal in the Turkey Cup. Two of our athletes ranked in the top 20 in Türkiye and qualified for the National Team.
- Athletics: Athlete Abdülkerim Kantemür claimed first place in his age category at the “Kocaeli’s Fastest” competition, earning the top spot on the podium. He also qualified to represent Kocaeli in the Turkish Championship.
- Cross-Country: The cross country team placed third in the Marmara Regional Races, earning the right to compete in the Turkish finals.
- Swimming: Athlete Elif Bektaş won a gold medal in the 50 meter freestyle category at the Turkish Championship held in Trabzon.
