Spot prices for steel rebar imports to Singapore rose in the past week until Monday, on August 16.
A major Indian steelmaker continued to offer rebar at $745-750 per tonne cfr Singapore on theoretical weight basis for end-September shipping materials.
Although buyers said that the offers are still not very high and attractive, Turkish steelmakers were also looking for potential buyers.
Foreign sources stated that Singaporean buyers have made purchases of Middle Eastern origin rebar in the past two weeks and therefore they are not in the spot market for new purchases.
