Sidenor acquires industrial scrap specialist Eplus

Sidenor has acquired Eplus, an industrial scrap specialist operating in the town of Artés, Barcelona. This acquisition is seen as the latest step in Sidenor's sustainable growth strategy.

The group, led by Sidenor's Chairman José Antonio Jainaga, continues its expansion plans in the sector without slowing down, while awaiting developments regarding its potential entry into Talgo with Trilantic. Earlier this year, Sidenor acquired the Madrid-based company Miguel Martín, and last year, it incorporated the Valencia-based firm Aguilar Metal Recycling (AMR) into its group.

Eplus's 2,000-square-meter facility processes various types of waste such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, paper, cardboard, and plastic, transforming them into reusable raw materials for the steel, metallurgy, and other industries.

Sara Jainaga, Sidenor's Sustainability Director, emphasized the importance of this move with these words: "The acquisition of Eplus strengthens our company's commitment to the circular economy and enhances Sidenor's contribution to regional economic development and prosperity. This step is a concrete demonstration of our sustainable growth vision."
