From January to July of this year, steel output in the country fell by 4.4% to 40.8 million tonnes.
According to the report, China produced 79.7 million tonnes in July, reducing steel output by 4%, while India produced 14 million tonnes (+14%). Steel production in Japan in July decreased by 2.5% to 6.9 million tonnes, and in the USA it increased by 4.8% to 7.1 million tonnes.
Steel output in Russia and other CIS countries, as well as Ukraine, amounted to 6.7 million tonnes, 5.1% lower than a year earlier. Over the first seven months of 2025, these countries produced 48.6 million tonnes of steel (-4.8%).
Asian and Oceanian countries produced 110.4 million tonnes in July, a decline of 1.9%. EU countries produced 10.2 million tonnes of steel, 7% less than a year earlier.
Steel production in North American countries increased by 5.8% in July to 9.4 million tonnes. Steel output in South American countries during the reporting period amounted to 3.6 million tonnes (-4.5%). Middle Eastern countries produced 4.4 million tonnes of steel, increasing output by 27.7% compared to the same period last year.
Overall, steel production in July 2025 amounted to 150.1 million tonnes, 1.3% lower than a year earlier.
