According to a source, stainless steel imports in Russia have increased by 11.4% monthly to 30,100 mt since December last year. In the same period, imports of cold-rolled stainless steel stood at 35.2% month on month, while imports of stainless long steel increased by 17.6% monthly, stainless seamless pipes by 17.1% monthly and stainless wire by 112.2% monthly.
In the meantime, imports of hot-rolled stainless steel were down 28.2% monthly and imports of stainless tubes were down 27.2% on the month.
China has become Russia's top stainless steel import destination, accounting for 73.3% of total shipments. China was followed by India with 10.5%, Indonesia with 3.5%, Taiwan with 3.2% and Turkey with 2.5%.
