The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of Russian companies BusinessOrbita, Vtormet, Intermettrade, Metalltorg, Rusmet RA, SGMK and representatives of Aboura Metals, Eurogulf Minerals and Metals FZCO, Jupiter Metals Trading LLC and The Nile Metals from the UAE.

The purpose of the trip was to examine the experiences in the processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap, electronic scrap and batteries. Under the agreement, the parties plan to promote cooperation between companies from Russia and the UAE to increase their competitiveness, strengthen their professional potential and develop the recycling industry.

As part of an intensive programme, Russian representatives visited Al Asfaran Steel, Masonery & Aluminium Smelting LLC, a company specialising in aluminium scrap recycling, and PGI, the UAE's leading ferrous steel and non-ferrous scrap recycling company.

In addition to visits to Ni Met Recycling FZ, which recycles stainless steel and heat resistant alloys, meetings with Dubatt and Sasra Metal FZC are also planned.
