Reserve Bank of India keeps interest rates steady

The Reserve Bank of India kept the policy rate unchanged at a low level in line with expectations.

Officials stated that they will observe the impact of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus on the economic recovery.

The Central Bank kept the repo rate constant at 4 percent and the reverse repo rate at 3.35 percent.

Economists predict that there will be no change in repo rates before the second half of 2022.
