On March 28, spot sales of Chinese rebar exceeded the 200,000 tons/day limit, making the 4th leap in a month. In the same day, the volume of rebar, including wire rod and coil bar, increased by 11.6% and was recorded as 200,563 tons.
Chinese rebar (20mm) prices rose 6 yuan/ton ($0.87) on the day to Yuan 4,267/t ($619.64) including VAT, after 9 days of decline.
On the Shanghai futures exchange, the May rebar contract increased Yuan 31/tonne ($4.50) from March 27.
