Qatar to advance sustainable building transformation at RetrofitTech Summit

Qatar’s key stakeholders in the built environment, sustainability, facility management, engineering and asset management sectors will gather in Doha for the 5th RetrofitTech & Sustainable Buildings Qatar Summit on September 22, 2026.

The summit will focus on advancing the sustainable transformation of Qatar’s buildings and industrial facilities in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

As Qatar shifts its attention from new construction towards improving the performance, efficiency and resilience of existing assets, organisations across the public, healthcare, hospitality, education, aviation and industrial sectors are increasingly adopting retrofit solutions.

These initiatives aim to enhance operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact and maximise the long-term value of existing buildings and infrastructure.

The event will bring together government authorities, asset owners, facility managers, engineering consultants, sustainability specialists, technology providers and other industry professionals.

The programme will include keynote presentations, case studies, panel discussions and technical sessions covering energy efficiency, building performance optimisation, decarbonisation strategies, smart facility management, circular economy practices, sustainable asset management and the integration of emerging technologies into existing infrastructure.

Representatives from Ashghal (Public Works Authority), the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD), AECOM, Naufar Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation, Barwa Real Estate Group, Qatar Design Consortium, KEO Group, Cundall and Raffles Hotels & Resorts are among the expected speakers.

“As Qatar intensifies its commitment to sustainability and operational excellence, retrofitting and optimising existing assets have become critical priorities for both the public and private sectors. The summit provides a unique opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange knowledge, discover innovative solutions and accelerate the transition towards a more efficient and sustainable built environment,” event organiser ACM stated.

The summit is expected to attract senior decision-makers from government institutions, real estate development companies, facility management firms, engineering consultancies, technology providers and asset-owning organisations. It will also offer networking, collaboration and business development opportunities.

Registration for the summit is currently open. Further information is available at retrofittechqatar.com.
