Qatar increased the customs duty applied to construction rebar and steel coils

The decision to increase customs duties on construction rebar and steel coils in Qatar has entered into force.

Qatar increased the customs duty applied to construction rebar and steel coils

In the first issue of the Qatar Official Gazette published this year, a new decree on the matter was included alongside various articles containing Emiri decrees, orders, and legal regulations.

Accordingly, Decree No. 117 of 2025 introduced an increase in customs duties on construction rebar and steel coils. Under Article 1 of the decree, the customs duty applied to construction rebar products including bars and wires made of steel as well as steel coils was set at 10% of the value of the goods for a period of one year, effective from the date on which Decree No. 88 of 2024 was repealed.

It was stated that the regulation entered into force as of the date of its publication and was announced by being published in the Official Gazette in accordance with the applicable procedures.
