Promsort-Kaluga plans to increase production of rolled metal products

The Promsort-Kaluga steel plant expects to improve production indicators by the end of 2025.

Promsort-Kaluga plans to increase production of rolled metal products

The Promsort-Kaluga steel plant in Kaluga, Russia, is making significant progress towards achieving its 2025 production targets. The plant, which produces steel using electric arc furnace (EAF) technology, has significantly increased its production capacity, with nearly 1 million tons of continuous cast billets produced in 2024.

During 2024, the plant achieved an increase of 227 thousand tons, which was made possible mainly by an increase in commercial NLZ sales and mill demand. Last year, the plant exceeded its design targets, producing a total of 839.4 thousand tons. This was achieved thanks to improved mill productivity and expansion into new sales markets.

Promsort-Kaluga has set ambitious targets for 2025. The electrical steel production center aims to produce 1.35 million tons of continuous cast billets, while the mill plans to produce more than 1 million tons of finished rolled products. To achieve these goals, the company aims to make its production processes more efficient and expand into wider markets.
