Turkiye's hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have been fluctuating up and down for a long time, unable to achieve the expected momentum. Following the end of the strikes in the US, HRC prices in the region and Europe have also increased. Price changes also affected Turkish producers. Producers, who have been trying for a long time at fixed levels of 10 USD minus 15 USD increase since they could not reach competitive prices, took a sharp and strong position this week. While factories were up by around $20-30, the spot market benefited from this increase. Factory and spot market prices by region were seen as follows by SteelRadar;
DOMESTIC MARKET EX-FACTORY PRICES IN TÜRKİYE
Aegean Region 660$ (January-February delivery) (+20$)
Marmara Region 670$ (February delivery) (+20$)
Iskenderun Region 665$ (discounts on the market) (+25$)
Black Sea Region 660$ (January-February delivery) (+20$)
Increases were also seen in the Turkish hot rolled steel spot market. While the Iskenderun region saw a low of $670 in the past few days, this week the low was $685-690 despite the tonnage. Prices in the Marmara Region were also seen around $690-695. Aegean Region spot prices increased by $30 in the last two weeks and reached $700.
