POSCO's production, which was 520,000 tons of crude steel and 260,000 tons of product production in September last year, was in decrease as a result of the closure of factories due to the flood disaster. Posco began recovering production in January of this year, producing 1.19 million tons of crude steel.
All 17 rolling mills at the Pohang plant have been operational since the 20th of last month. Production of raw and processed steel exceeded the 1 million metric meter mark in four months.
Due to the flooding, POSCO lost KRW 904.5 billion in the fourth quarter of last year alone, with a total loss of KRW 1.34 trillion.
