NSL Green Steel Recycling, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Steel, has decided to use Italian Danieli Centro Recycling technology for its new heavy-duty scrap shredder plant in Raigad, Maharashtra, India.
The new system is planned to process light and medium ferrous scrap, demolition scrap and pressed vehicle scrap, producing over 100 tons per hour. Thanks to the continuous feed conveyor to be integrated into the plant, pauses in scrap loading will be prevented and melting efficiency will be increased.
After shredding, the scrap material will be cleaned and separated into ferrous and non-ferrous. Ferrous scrap products will be stacked in a single area via a radial conveyor. At the heart of the system, the Danieli-patented variable speed drive system –inverter– will enable the motor to run at high efficiency, improving torque control in heavy metal processing while reducing energy consumption.
The new plant will enable high-density quality profiles to be used more efficiently in JSW production lines, combining energy savings and operational efficiency.
