November is the month for Turkey's wire rod imports! Lowest imports despite annual increase

Turkey's wire rod imports in November increased by 24.18% compared to the same period last year, and decreased by 49.09% compared to the previous month. November was the month with the least imports in the January-November period.

According to the information obtained by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, Turkey's wire rod imports in November increased by 24.18% compared to the same period last year, while it decreased by 49.09% compared to the previous month and was recorded as 18,296 tons.

20.8% increase in 11 months

There was a 20.8% increase in total imports. Wire rod imports, which were 342,083 tons in the 11-month period of last year, increased by 20.8% to 677,241 tons in the same period this year.

November was the month with the lowest imports

While the highest wire rod imports in 2022 were realized in January, the lowest imports were seen in November. While November was the month with the lowest imports this year, the highest imports in the said period were recorded in May.

Most imports are from South Korea

When we look at it on a country basis, the country from which Turkey imported the most wire rod in November was South Korea with 5,772 tons, followed by the United Kingdom with 2,839 tons, Switzerland with 2,171 tons, Spain with 2,124 tons and Germany with 2,103 tons. In October, most imports were from the United Kingdom.
