Nippon Steel plans to establish the world's largest steel mill

Japan's Nippon Steel has announced plans to build the world's largest steel mill with an annual capacity of around 30 million tons in Odisha, India.

This will be done through a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel known as ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), which has signed a $6 billion agreement with the government of Odisha to build a 12 million tons per year integrated steel plant.

In addition, AM/NS India has been approved for a $46 million investment to build an additional 7 million tons/year steel plant in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district.
