A significant milestone has been reached in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for the Tuzlaport Shipyard, Floating Dock and Dredging Project planned by Tuzlaport Port and Shipyard Management Inc. in Tuzla, Istanbul. The Review and Evaluation Commission (İDK) meeting for the project is scheduled to be held on August 6, 2026.
The project, with an investment value of approximately TRY 7.67 billion, envisages the construction of a shipyard, floating dock and auxiliary facilities on an area exceeding 350,000 square meters. In addition to shipbuilding, maintenance and repair activities, the project aims to establish the necessary infrastructure for steel processing, block fabrication, equipment manufacturing and marine structures.
The investment also includes dredging works to ensure the safe berthing of vessels, as well as the construction of new quays and coastal structures. Upon completion, the project is expected to enhance Tuzla's shipbuilding and ship repair capacity while making a significant contribution to steel processing and metalworking activities linked to the maritime industry.
