New air separation plant with 400 tons capacity to be built in Oman

The rapidly growing demand from the iron and steel industry is increasing the need for the production of oxygen and other industrial gases. In Oman, Air Products and SARGAS are partnering to build a new air separation plant that will produce 400 tons of oxygen and nitrogen per day. This investment will contribute to the industry in the region while promoting energy efficiency and environmentally friendly production methods.

New air separation plant with 400 tons capacity to be built in Oman

The iron and steel industry is a major consumer of industrial gases, particularly oxygen, which is essential for steelmaking processes. Global steel production is set to reach approximately 1,951 billion metric tons in 2021, further reinforcing the need for air separation plants. This growing demand is driving industrial gas producers to expand capacity and build new plants.

In this context, a significant investment drive is gaining attention in Oman. Air Products is building a new air separation plant in cooperation with SARGAS. This plant, which will have a daily production capacity of 400 tons of oxygen and nitrogen, aims to make a significant contribution to the industry in the region. While strengthening Oman's industrial infrastructure, the investment is expected to make a major contribution to meeting the demand for industrial gases in the region.

Such investments also encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly and sustainable production methods. It is stated that the investment aims to increase energy efficiency with air separation units equipped with modern technologies. These developments are expected to make Oman's industrial sector more competitive and environmentally friendly.
