The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) announced an increase in natural gas tariffs effective as of July 2. According to the written statement made by EMRA, in line with the wholesale prices determined by Boru Hatları ile Petrol Taşıma AŞ (BOTAŞ), there has been a price increase in natural gas for residential and industrial consumers.
Accordingly, the sales price of natural gas used by residential users was increased by 24.6% on average. For industrial users, this rate was determined as 7.86% on average. The new rates will be effective as of July 2.
With the price increase, it is seen that the rising costs are directly reflected on residential users, while energy costs are expected to rise on the industrial side as well. The statement said that the price regulation is necessary for energy supply security and sustainability.
