In a statement released by the company, it was noted that the new facility will increase MSSSL's annual production capacity to 700,000 tons, thereby positioning it among India's leading private steel producers. The facility will meet more than 95% of its energy needs from renewable sources and will adopt an environmentally friendly production approach with a zero liquid, solid, and gas discharge model.
MSSSL President Vipul Mashruwala said, "The new facility will enable us to meet growing demand with higher efficiency, quality, and environmental responsibility. This is a step towards realizing our shared vision of creating a world-class, sustainable specialty steel operation."
Mukand Sumi Special Steel operates as a joint venture between Jamnalal Sons Private Ltd., which holds a 51% stake, and Japan's Sumitomo Corporation, which holds a 49.51% stake.
