In a groundbreaking development, the Iraqi company Muhaj Baghdad has inked a strategic agreement with the renowned Italian manufacturer Danieli. The collaboration aims to construct a state-of-the-art hot-rolling mechanical mill, poised to transform the steel industry in the region.
The upcoming mill, strategically located in the Al-Hilla industrial zone near Baghdad, will boast an impressive annual production capacity of 500,000 tons. Leveraging Danieli’s specialized high-speed rolling technology, the facility will focus on producing high-quality rebar. These steel bars, with diameters ranging from 10 to 40 millimeters for construction and infrastructure projects. The visionary design of the mill includes provisions for wire rod production, ensuring adaptability to evolving market demands.
Production operations at this cutting-edge steel unit are slated to commence in the late third quarter of 2025.
