Mechanoremontny Complex LLC (MRK LLC), a subsidiary of MMK Group, is continuing construction of a casting and forging workshop aimed at producing import-substituting machinery for Russia and CIS countries. The project is being implemented with the support of the Industrial Development Fund and will cost more than 14 billion rubles.
The annual production capacity of the new workshop is planned to be about 24 thousand tons, while the project is expected to create over 770 jobs. The facility is expected to be completed in the last quarter of 2026.
The modern full-cycle production facility will focus on the production of forged rollers for cold and hot rolling mills, as well as oversized forgings with a billet weight of up to 120 tons. The plant is expected to meet all of MRK LLC's forging roll requirements as part of its integrated development program, reducing imports from 80% to 30%.
The overall design of the project is being carried out by FSUE TsNIIchermet, while JSC “Rentmontazh” is the main construction contractor. So far, the construction of the retaining walls has been completed; excavation works and foundation dismantling operations have been completed on an area of 60 thousand square meters. A total of 74 pieces of technological equipment are planned to be installed in the workshop.
