MKE to invest TRY 2 billion in defense industry

Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş.(MKE) is making a major investment in the defense industry in Samsun. It was announced that a new production facility will be established on the land of the former Çarşamba Şeker Fabrikası with an investment of TRY 2 billion.

MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş and Deputy General Manager İrfan Özsert visited Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı. Keleş stated that work on the establishment of the factory has begun.

Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı stated that MKE meets the strategic needs of the Turkish Armed Forces with domestic and national facilities and that this investment will make great contributions to the industry and economy of the city.

Governor Tavlı said, “MKE, which continues its activities with the strength of its history and national sense of duty, will reinforce our independence with this important investment and will enable us to walk stronger into the future. With its developing industry, growing economy, young and talented workforce, Samsun will make significant contributions to Türkiye's century with its investment, production, employment and export-oriented growth strategy. MKE investment will give a great impetus to the Samsun Century.”
