Three ships have no request to depart; they are there for specific operations. We have energy production vessels and others. Regarding the remaining ships, negotiations for their extraction are ongoing. So far, there has been no opportunity to evacuate them. We are in constant communication with the personnel and captains. They face no humanitarian issues, and we are monitoring them closely,” he said.
Touching upon allegations that the tanker named “Altura” was attacked by an Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) approximately 14 miles off the Bosphorus, Uraloğlu stated: “Whether the incident on the ship was an explosion or a strike is being investigated by our experts. We know there was an external intervention. This incident occurred outside our territorial waters. In general, there are no issues regarding navigation.”
The Minister noted that the troubles in the Strait of Hormuz persist and that efforts are continuing, under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to safely extract the remaining Turkish ships from the region.
