In a statement shared on his social media account, Bolat emphasized that the importance of Türkiye–U.S.A economic cooperation was highlighted during the meeting.
Noting that he met with Barrack at the Ministry of Trade, Bolat said: “During our meeting, we evaluated the current state of trade relations between Türkiye and the United States, the developments achieved so far, as well as our plans and expectations for the coming months. We agreed with the Ambassador on assessing opportunities in new areas of cooperation.”
Minister Bolat also provided information about his meeting with Gerassimos Thomas,General Director for Taxation and Customs Union at the European Commission. In another post on his social media account, Bolat stated that he hosted Thomas at the Ministry, noting that discussions covered Türkiye–EU trade relations, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), e-commerce, and efforts toward the mutual recognition of authorized economic operators.
Commenting on the meeting, Bolat said: “We exchanged views on our work regarding the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, e-commerce, and the mutual recognition of authorized economic operators, which are among the key items on our trade agenda with the EU. We expressed our determination to further strengthen our cooperation in these areas.”
