Manhize steel plants in Africa are in testing phase

It is announced that the Manhize steel plant, which is expected to be one of the largest integrated steel plants in Africa, has successfully started testing and is expected to start operations next month.

The Manhize steel plant, expected to be one of the largest integrated steel plants in Africa, has successfully commenced testing and is expected to be operational next month. It was reported that an important step has been taken to revitalize Zimbabwe's economic and industrial vision.

The owner of the plant, DISCO, one of the subsidiaries of China's stainless steel producer Tsingshan Holdings Group Limited, has started testing work at the steel plant. Joseph Shoko, DISCO's public relations manager, stated that its members are aware of the testing process.

It has been announced that so far, trial runs have been carried out on the thermal power plants and blast furnace, and the construction of the electrical substation has been completed.

DISCO's new steel mill aims to reach an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons, 1.2 million tons, 3.2 million tons and finally 5 million tons in different stages. The large scale production aims to provide Zimbabwean industry with a wide range of products, directly creating up to 10,000 jobs.
