Major cooperation between EİB and EGEKOBIDER to turn SMEs into exporters

Aegean Exporters' Associations and EGEKOBIDER signed a Training Protocol. Companies will be trained on financial management, digitalization, foreign trade, institutionalization and sustainability.

Major cooperation between EİB and EGEKOBIDER to turn SMEs into exporters

Aegean Exporters' Associations and Aegean Small and Medium Enterprises Association (EGEKOBIDER) have decided to join forces in order to contribute to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthen their exporter identity.

A training protocol was signed between the Aegean Exporters' Associations and EGEKOBIDER. The protocol was signed on behalf of EİB by EİB Secretary General İ. Cumhur İşbırakmaz and on behalf of EGEKOBİDER by EGEKOBİDER Chairman Yüksel Bilek. After the protocol signing ceremony, the first training was given by EGEKOBIDER Chairman Yüksel Bilek at the EİB Conference Hall.

İşbırakmaz “We will increase the competitiveness of our exporters”

Speaking at the opening of the program, EİB Secretary General İ. Cumhur İşbırakmaz drew attention to the importance of this cooperation. Stating that in order for our exporters to compete on a global scale, they need to be competent not only in production but also in financial literacy, İşbırakmaz stated, "For this reason, this training series we started with EGEKOBİDER is extremely valuable for us. Financial discipline is one of the biggest needs of our businesses in terms of healthy balance sheet management and sustainable growth. We believe that these trainings will strengthen the financial capabilities of our SMEs and will contribute to their continued progress with more robust and resilient structures. I would like to thank EGEKOBIDER for setting out with us in this regard."

Bilek: “We must create durable and corporate companies”

In her speech, EGEKOBIDER President Yüksel Bilek emphasized that businesses need to become resilient not only against external factors but also against internal management weaknesses, and that this training series is very valuable for this. Underlining that the majority of Türkiye's economy is made up of family businesses, Bilek stated, "This necessitates the need for guidance for companies on their journey towards institutionalization. For this reason, Finance Management constitutes the first step of institutionalization. If we want to have a say in the world market, we need to share knowledge, equip our entrepreneurs and spread the export culture to the grassroots. I would like to thank EIB for giving us the opportunity of this training series."

First training by Yüksel Bilek: Financial Discipline

Yüksel Bilek conducted the first training after the signing ceremony and focused on financial discipline in companies. Underlining that cash flow management, budget discipline, debt management and cost control are no longer luxuries but vital needs, Bilek evaluated financial discipline as the basic building block that determines the future of a business.

The seminar covered topics such as What is Financial Discipline, Creating a Budget, Cash Flow, Expense Control and Cost Awareness, Financial Reporting, Debt Management and Credit Discipline, Maintaining Discipline with Digital Tools.

Topics such as financial literacy, digitalization, foreign trade, institutionalization and sustainability will be brought to the agenda in other trainings to be hosted by EİB under the roof of EGEKOBİDER ACADEMY, which will continue with two separate sessions every month.
